At the head of town, in walking distance of the cruise ship facility is St. Maarten's newest casino: October 2001, the Jump Up Casino opened its doors to visitors and locals and quickly became a leading attraction in the island's capital, Philipsburg.

The casino is themed after the colorful Sint Maarten Carnival. St. Maarteners call the beginning of the carnival season "Jump Up". The first parade starts at 4 AM in the morning, but you don't have to get up that early to experience some authentic carnival sounds and to view some of the gorgeous costumes on display inside the casino - come anytime after 10 AM.

In the casino you will find all kinds of slots, from 1 Cent to 5 Dollars, progressive jackpots, Bingo everyday, live entertainment at weekends with regular performances from Xplosion (band of the Year since 1997), and some of the island's hottest bands.
